Welder/Fabricator, Rapid City, SD

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications or other forms of instruction.



Essential Position Requirements:

  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques.

  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.

  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials.

  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).

  • Use of Conventional and precision measuring instruments.

  • Process inspection, certification and documentation.

  • Welding equipment maintenance.

  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.

  • MUST have basic lifting and rigging knowledge.

  • Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.

  • Safety and Housekeeping.

  • Others duties as assigned by the shop supervisor.


Education & Work Experience:
·    High School diploma and one year experience in various forms of welding.

Knowledge & Skills:
·    Ability to read a tape measure. ·    Ability to follow verbal directions. ·    Basic mechanical knowledge preferred. ·    Ability to do your job as quickly and accurately as possible while following all safety standards.

Physical Requirements:

·    Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching ·    Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate welding and other shop equipment. ·    Ability to lift up to 1000 pounds.
